Wrong time? or right time.

So with chapter two coming to an end, I wanted to share my thoughts with you. First, when I was writing the script I planned this chapter to be roughly the same length as the previous one but then I had some ideas that required extra pages (for example, the rain was shorter but I extended the scene a bit), and now it’s over 40 pages long. I do have a script for Chapter 3 but I will not promise you any specifics about pages count 😀 I hope you will get excited for it as I am because the next chapter contains some of my favourite scenes (well, actually, every chapter gets at least one favourite scene, that’s the whole point!).

Technical issues.

I broke the website a lot during this chapter but I set bulletproof way of updating everything, so I hope it won’t happen again. Now we have fully functioning main page meaning you can share the link to the website without worrying about spoilers. And we got a small redesign of comic pages, so you can enjoy pages in higher resolution.

But enough about the website, let’s talk about webcomic! In this chapter we’ve learned that time travel doesn’t always work perfectly. And without a person responsible for it, it’s impossible to go back. Where is Martin? Why he’s not in the database? Stay tuned to learn all answers.

Some fun facts about second chapter in no particular order:

  • The first time Renee’s name got mentioned is on page 38. And it’s not even her real name. Will we learn it? Yes, eventually. But to avoid confusion no one calls her by her passport name in the first chapter.
  • In 2052 Ed lives in a coffee house near the Summer palace. We will see more of this place in the next chapter.
  • We will meet all people from the cover of this chapter.
  • At the beginning of the chapter, Ed is reading The Importance of Being Earnest. At some point I actually considered of naming him Ernest but I liked Ed as a shortened version more than Ernie.
  • The only reason Renee takes off hairpins on her way back from the capital is to make her hair to go up when she uses her powers.
  • There are 42 pages in the chapter excluding the cover.

I am extremely exited to get to the third chapter and that’s why there won’t be any breaks (and because I drew some pages ahead during my vacation and now I have a buffer).

The summer is kinda low season for website activity since everyone has other things to do, but I wanted to have things for you to read if you are want spend this time with Deadly Incidents. Thank you so much!

If you want to see some spoilers for the third chapter I have a video about my process on working on the backgrounds. And it’s the page 74!

I hope you will continue this journey with me! And see you at the last page of the chapter this Tuesday!
